🔷 ONE BIG THING

Boise State football head coach Andy Avalos sits down for an all-access interview with KTVB as the Broncos prepare for their first MW opponent of the season against San Diego State.

Going in to conference play, it’s going to require us to be our best. As we do that, we’ll continue to grow.” - Andy Avalos

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 First of Many. Boise State volleyball will battle it out against Colorado State tonight in its first MW match of the season. Paige Bartsch and Breanna Mitchell will lead the team as this season’s winners of MW Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards thus far.

Last season, the Broncos were victorious in the lone matchup of the season against the Rams with a 3-1 win. This season, Boise State has racked up more aces, more blocks and less errors per set than their opponents.

🔼 Soccer’s MW Preview. Over in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bronco soccer will take on Colorado College in the MW opener. After finishing non-conference play on a five-match unbeaten streak, Boise State looks to keep Colorado College winless this season.

The Broncos hold an all-time series lead of 4-3-2 on Colorado College, with three of their four wins occurring on the road. Boise State forward Carly Cross looks to expand on her team-leading five goals this season, and goalkeeper Genevieve Crenshaw sits just one shutout away from tying the school record.

🔼 To The Pros. During Week 2 of the NFL, seven former Broncos took the field in starting roles, and contributed as impact players.

Alexander Mattison and Ezra Cleveland both returned to starting roles in their Week 2 game with the Vikings on Thursday Night Football. Charles Leno Jr. saw the field for every offensive snap on the line, 73 plays in all en route to a Commanders win.

Leighton Vander Esch helped shut down the offense as he took every defensive snap for the Cowboys with four total tackles and two solo stops. Demarcus Lawrence was dominant in his showing with America’s Team with two tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass deflection.

Khalil Shakir saw action with the Buffalo Bills and recorded an 11-yard touchdown for the team’s third score of the first half. John Bates also served as an impact player with the Commanders with three receptions for 46 yards including the second-longest play of the day on a 35-yard catch.
