Good Morning Bronco Nation 9/25: Top of the Mountain
Today, we recap a full weekend of Boise State performances
Good morning! Broncos women’s golf is teeing off for its second tournament of the fall this morning with a new ranking (more on that later) and a fun fresh look at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic.
🏈 Friday Night Fun
🏐 Another Won
🔷 And much, much more!
🔷 ONE BIG THING
For the 13th time in 13 seasons, Boise State football opened up Mountain West play with a win under the lights on Friday in San Diego.
Bronco running back Ashton Jeanty balled out for the Blue and Orange after his career game saw him rack up 205 rushing yards and two touchdowns. His total was the third-most rushing yards of any player in the country this season. Quarterback Taylen Green also had a solid game, recording both a passing and rushing touchdown.
The defense came up big when needed with forced fumbles by Rodney Robinson and Ahmad Hassanein that led to points for the Broncos offense. When all was said and done, the Broncos came away with the hard-fought 34-31 road win.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 No Answers. Boise State volleyball moved to 2-0 in conference play in front of its home crowd after defeating Wyoming 3-1 for its sixth win of the season. Paige Bartsch had a career performance after recording 30 kills, the second-most in a four-set match in the rally scoring era. Noelani Helm added 35 assists on the night en route to a win.
🔼 Running Broncos. Each Boise State cross country team completed the Roy Griak Invitational with fifth-place finishes. The men’s team was led by Ned Potter who ran his 8K in 24:42, good enough for 20th place overall. The women’s team was led by Kaiya Robertson who finished in 11th in the 6K with a time of 21:25.1.
🔼 All Square. Boise State soccer completed their Colorado road trip undefeated after tying with Air Force on Sunday afternoon. After surrendering a goal early in the first-half, the Broncos came back with a goal of its own, courtesy of Cindy Conner late in the second-half to tie the match up. Goalkeeper Genevieve Crenshaw came up big for Boise State with seven saves, a career-high.
The Broncos, now undefeated in their last seven matches, will face off against Wyoming at home on Thursday night at 7 p.m. MT.
🔼 First Ranking. In the first Golfweek rankings of the season, Boise State women’s golf came in at No. 67. The Broncos will look to improve their ranking this week as they tee it up at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in a three-day tournament in Wolcott, Colo.
