🔷 ONE BIG THING

As the only MW freshman to break into the top 20 in the women’s 6K race at the Roy Griak Invitational, Boise State’s Julia Kiesler was named the MW Cross Country Freshman of the Week.

Her time of 21:47.0 was 25 seconds faster than the next closest MW freshman as she helped the Broncos to a fifth-place finish over nationally-ranked New Mexico. Kiesler and the rest of Boise State cross country will look to end the regular season on a high note at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Oct. 13 in Madison, Wis.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Twice as Nice. Running back Ashton Jeanty was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Honorable Mentions list after his career performance of 205 rushing yards, 49 receiving yards and two touchdowns against San Diego State. The explosive playmaker is the Broncos’ second honoree after wide receiver Eric McAlister was selected to the Honorable Mentions list after his performance against North Dakota.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in DI football who was born in Texas or graduated from a Texas high school and exhibits characteristics such as integrity, teamwork and tenacity. For the second time this season, a Boise State player checked all of those boxes.

🔼 Big Jump. Day two of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic is in the books, and Boise State women’s golf put together a round that helped them jump six spots in the standings to head into the final round in fourth place. Teal Matsueda finished with the Broncos’ low score of the day at even-par while Leia Chung wasn’t too far behind after carding a 4-over par round.

🔼 Watch Out. Boise State volleyball standout Paige Bartsch is putting up numbers that are up there with the best in the nation. So far this season, Bartsch is No. 1 in the country in aces per set (0.76), No. 2 in points per set (6.14) and No. 3 in kills per set (5.16). These numbers have helped the Broncos ride a four-game win streak and an undefeated record in MW play.

🤔 BLUE TURF TRIVIA
