📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Here Comes McBride. Boise State soccer’s Avery McBride was named the Mountain West Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week following the team’s 4-0 victory against UC Riverside. McBride scored the first two goals of her career and added an assist for five points in the start against the Highlanders. This marks the first MW weekly award for the women's soccer team this season and the first of McBride's career.

🔼 Star-Studded Backfield. After a pair of dominant season-opening performances, Boise State running backs Ashton Jeanty and Sire Gaines were recognized by the Mountain West. Jeanty was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week while Gaines took home Freshman of the Week honors.

🏈 Jeanty’s six rushing touchdowns tied the MW single-game record, and he became just the 10th player in FBS since 2013 to score six rushing touchdowns in a game. The award marks Jeanty's second conference Player of the Week honor.

🏈 Gaines had an impressive performance in his first collegiate contest. The fourth-youngest player among FBS programs notched 110 yards on the ground and added two touchdowns – one on the ground and one in the air. He became the first Bronco freshman to rush for over 100 yards in a game since Jeanty did so in 2022.

🔼 Turning Heads. After helping Boise State volleyball open the 2024 season with a 2-1 record, Kiki Remensperger was named the Mountain West Volleyball Freshman of the Week. In an impressive debut for the Blue and Orange, Remensperger recorded two double-doubles at the Cactus Classic in Tucson, Arizona, where she recorded a combined 44 assists, five service aces, and a team-high 31 digs on the week.

🔼 Going Low. Boise State men’s golf’s Luke Cushman finished third at 7-under par while Gavyn Knight and Cole Rueck finished tied for ninth at 2-under par to lead the Broncos to a second-place finish in the season opener at the Island Resort Intercollegiate. Boise State (5-under par) finished ahead of Power-4 schools No. 21 Georgia, Michigan and UCF, and entered Monday's final round tied with the eventual winner.

🔼 Climbing The Ranks. In the latest ITA Collegiate Tennis National Preseason Rankings, incoming freshman Maya Dutta and Oklahoma transfer Zdena Safarova earned a No. 53 ranking in doubles. Dutta and Safarova are the lone duo from the Mountain West to be recognized in the rankings. The Bronco duo will join the four other Bronco pairs who have finished a season in the ITA doubles national rankings.

🔼 Through The Lens. Each of the six Boise State Athletics programs in action this weekend hit the road to compete for the Blue and Orange. Check out some of the best images from soccer, volleyball and football.
