🔷 ONE BIG THING

We’ve got some midweek Boise State postseason action on tap today in Las Vegas! The Broncos will face Fresno State this afternoon with first serve at 2 p.m. MT but before they do watch them getting prepped for the match.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Match Day. Today is officially the day. Boise State volleyball starts their MW Championship campaign with a 2 p.m. MT first serve against Fresno State. This is the 23rd conference tournament that Boise State has qualified for since 1980, advanced to four tournament championship matches (Big Sky 1988, 1989, 1991, and MW 2021), winning one in 2021.

Fresno State enters the tournament at 16-13 overall and 10-8 in the conference, having lost three straight entering the championship—at Air Force (3-0) and at home against Utah State (3-1) and Boise State (3-1).

🔼 A Nobley Endeavor. Former Boise State standout Sierra Nobley has been named to the Mountain West 25th Season Volleyball Team, selected by the MW 25th Season Committee as the conference celebrates its excellence on and off the field of play.

Nobley, who was a four-year starter at outside hitter from 2014-2017, is the most decorated player in program history. At the national level, she is a three-time AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, three-time AVCA All-District, and one-time honorable mention all-district honoree.

The native of Scottsdale, Ariz., she was also named the 2016 MW Player of the Year, becoming the first Bronco in history to earn conference player of the year recognition. She was also the 2014 MW Freshman of the Year and a four-time All-MW honoree—the second person in program history to be named all-conference four times and the only one during the MW era.

At the time of exhausting her eligibility in 2017, she owned the MW records for career kills with 1,925 career kills per set at 4.53 (currently second) and career points with 2,157 (currently second).

🤔 BLUE TURF TRIVIA

Recency bias. Boise State volleyball has some momentum going into today’s MW Championship as they enter on the heels of a three-game win streak and strong performances against their opponent, Fresno State.

Our question today—what was the Broncos’ record in two matches this year against the Bulldogs?
