🔷 ONE BIG THING

Holding Court. Senior Boise State gymnastics team member Courtney Blackson has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. On April 18, Blackson scored 9.925 on bars in the first semifinal at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships—the highest bars score at nationals in program history.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Punched That Ticket. Senior Taylor Caudill pitched 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball, and Alycia Flores blasted a three-run home run to lead Boise State to an 8-4 victory over New Mexico on Sunday.

Caudill (16-12) went the first five innings in the circle for Boise State (30-21, 10-9 Mountain West) and reentered to record the final two outs of the game as the Broncos clinched a spot in the MW Championship, May 9-11 in Boise.

🔼 California Love. Boise State track and field notched five gold-medal finishes to highlight a split-meet weekend in California. The Broncos also established 22 career-bests on the weekend and nine top-five finishes. At the Steve Scott Invitational, the Broncos racked up four first-place finishes. At the Fresno State Invitational, Gabriella Chiara ran a career-best time of 2:10.79 in the women's 800-meter to take home gold.

🔼 Worth Its Weight in Cole. It took several hours of waiting, but men’s golfer Boise State’s Cole Rueck is the champion of the Mountain West. Rueck is the fifth conference champion in program history and the first since Brian Humphreys won the Mountain West in 2017. With his victory, he qualifies for an NCAA Regional, May 13-15, at a to-be-determined site.

🔼 Blue-Collar Tough. The latest of Boise State Athletics’ spotlights on graduate assistants who help each department within athletics run smoothly while obtaining their master's degree features Michael Fenster. Fenster is the game manager for the women's basketball and soccer programs while pursuing a degree in the Master of Athletic Leadership (MAL) program. It’s a lot to take on, so it’s no wonder Boise State Soccer Associate Head Coach Max Weber calls him “blue-collar tough.

🤔 BLUE TURF TRIVIA
