🔷 ONE BIG THING

Never count these Broncos out. Boise State rallied back from a 20-point deficit to stun San Jose State in front of a raucous crowd of 37,491—the second-largest comeback in the FBS era and the second-largest crowd at Albertsons Stadium—thanks to nearly 500 yards of total offense and a defense that finished with a pair of sacks and a trio of turnovers.

But it was Ashton Jeanty who stole the show, running for an impressive 167 yards on 24 carries and tacking on 16 receiving yards from a pair of catches. His final tally put him in rare company as he became just the third player in the FBS since 1996 to record over 1,000 yards from scrimmage in the first six games of the season—matching Tyrell Sutton (Northwestern) and Michael Crabtree (Texas Tech). No Mountain West player has ever achieved such a feat.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Party Like It’s 2019. Boise State soccer took down conference rival New Mexico for the first time since 2019 with a 2-1 win yesterday afternoon. The Broncos opened the scoring when Kenzie MacMillan took a shot, assisted by Carly Cross and Morgan Padour, from just outside the penalty box that landed in the right side of the net in the eighth minute of the match. Bronco goalkeeper Genevieve Crenshaw made four saves in the first half to maintain the Broncos' one-goal advantage entering the break.

The Broncos kept their foot on the gas as they extended their lead when Teryn Newkirk knocked in the first goal of her Boise State career off assists by Payton McBride and Evva Vail in the 52nd minute of the match.

🔼 How Sweep It Is. Boise State volleyball stampeded past Nevada to earn its second sweep of the weekend, defeating the Wolf Pack 3-0 (25-11, 26-24, 25-14) this weekend in Bronco Gym. The win was the seventh in the last eight contests for Boise State, who improved to 9-7 overall and 5-1 in Mountain West play to remain in a tie for first place.

The Blue and Orange controlled the first and third sets, winning by 14 and 11 points, respectively, while the second proved to be a battle. The Broncos hit .265 for the match to Nevada's .103 and had 42 kills and 12 service aces to the Wolf Pack's 30 kills and one ace.

🔼 Life’s A Beach. Boise State beach volleyball wrapped up its first tournament of the fall season at the Alki Pairs Tournament this weekend, ending with three bracket-play winners at the event, which consisted of a separate tournament on each day.

Rorianna Chartier and Lily Patock won the C Bracket of the Gold Division on Saturday, topping Oregon's Isabella Garnache and Alina Valenti 21-19, 21-18 to claim the crown. Playing together for the first time in their careers, the duo finished 3-2 over the course of the event.

Ava Anderson and Addison Wolden also had a dominant showing, claiming the B Bracket crown of the Silver Division on Saturday. The pair went 4-1 on the opening day and defeated teammates Kaylee Mejia and Abbie Wolf in the final. Anderson also had a strong showing yesterday, winning four-straight matches with Anika Christensen before falling to Kylie Fitzsimmons and Ashlyn Zilliken (Arizona) in the final of the Silver Division A Bracket.

Emily Garus and Summer McCann won the Bronze Division B Bracket, defeating Milan Ray and Lauren Sayre of Utah in the title match.

🔼 Still The One. Joana Baptista earned a championship singles victory in the top flight at the Beach Tennis Fall Tournament yesterday, cruising through the Black Draw, and defeating Long Beach State's Paulina Franco-Martinessi (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) before beating Kayla Meraz from UC Irvine (3-6, 6-2, 7-5). In the finals, she faced off against Rhona Cook of Long Beach State, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Bhakti Shah also had a strong showing in the White Draw, claiming a third-place finish as she started off with a win over Vito Solis Urdiales of CSUN before falling to Justine Dondonay (Long Beach State) 6-2, 7-6(5) in the semifinals. The junior bounced back in the match for third place, defeating Diana Yanotovskaya from Cal State Fullerton (6-2, 6-4).

Ella Piron secured a fourth-place finish at the event. In the Grey Draw, Piron defeated Emily Fowler of UC Irvine (6-2, 7-5) to qualify for the semifinals. She then lost to Cal State Fullerton's Mariia Nikitash (6-3, 6-4) and UC Irvine's Cydney Yamamoto (1-6, 7-5, 6-3).
